This is a photo of us launching our boat before paddling.  She is on a trailer and then we hook that up with a launch slip.  We do this every time, twice a week.  Monday the 24th, we had 15 paddlers.  Jim was steering and we went up the river as far as the bend.  It is 3 K to that point, and then back to the wharf.  So 6 K in all, within the hour of practice.
Monday, 17th we had 15 paddlers in the boat.  We watched the sky, as there had been a threat of thunder-showers.  But all went well, and it was a good paddle.  Too soon for photos from Brigdetown, but we will watch their web site.  On Thurs. 20th, we had 19 paddlers, Jim was coxswain, and it was a lovely night.
Sat. July 15th, we went to Bridgetown, to paddle in the dragon boat races as part of clean Annapolis River Project.  We did not have a full boat.  17 in one race, 16 in other, and maybe 15 or 16 in our third race.  But we came in first with a time of 59 sec.  Then second with one minute.  We ended up in the consolation race, but did not win.  I am so proud of our team.  We had two paddlers from Banook , that had just finished Dragon Boat East's camp.  They paddled in 6 races that day,  WOW!  We had Susan P. from Truro, and in the last race her daughter from Digby cam into the boat.  WOOHoo.  It was a great day.   Thanks to Murray F. and Rose and everyone who made the day sooooo wonderful.

This is a photo of us at Clean Annapolis River Project last year.  Tomorrow (Sat 15th), we are going to Bridgetown again to race.  We have 17 confirmed paddlers for the boat, we need 20, so we might be recruiting on site.   Monday, the 10th there were 19 paddlers at practice.  Last night, there were 16.

Monday the 3rd, we had 16 paddlers in the boat.  John N. was telling us about his first days at Dragon Boat East's camp.  He is to be our alternate coxswain.    Thursday the 6th, Sandee was there to coach us.  What a great session.  She is here is Canada, at Kingsport for a while.  Hope she will continue to coach us for CARP in Briddgetown on the 15th.  We had 10 paddlers last night.  John was steering,  did a great job.  It was windy so we stayed in the basin of the lake.  Ruth was back.
